Bangkok, September 2026: Sodexo Thailand, a global leader in food services and integrated facilities management, is advancing WasteLESS Week 2026, its annual environmental initiative, through the "WasteWatch & WasteWise Champion 2026" campaign.

Combining employee creativity with technology, the campaign encourages teams to improve working practices to reduce food waste, plastic use, and water consumption, while using resources more efficiently. Over one month, employees across 12 service sites collectively reduced food waste by 3,677.14 kilograms, lowered the carbon footprint by 8.31 metric tonnes, and saved 3,544.06 liters of fuel. These results demonstrate how environmental awareness can translate into practical action to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency in service delivery.

WasteLESS Week draws on Sodexo's service expertise to improve resource management throughout its operations, from ingredient planning and preparation to cooking, service, and the use of surplus ingredients. Each site can tailor its approach to its operational needs and client requirements, helping minimize waste, manage costs, and maintain service quality while engaging employees, clients, and consumers.

Thuy Ngo, Managing Director of Sodexo Thailand and Vietnam, said: "At Sodexo, reducing food waste is part of our everyday operations, not just something we focus on during awareness campaigns. We use data from our daily activities to help each site identify opportunities for improvement and refine its working practices. Collaboration with employees, clients, and consumers is equally important. WasteLESS Week encourages everyone to start with small, practical actions each day. When these efforts come together across multiple sites, they can create lasting environmental benefits."

This year's campaign combines data-driven operational improvements with opportunities for employees to develop new ideas through two key initiatives. "WasteWatch Champion 2026" recognizes sites that use WasteWatch by Leanpath to consistently record and monitor food waste. The system helps teams understand waste volume and causes, enabling more accurate food production and service planning. This year's winning team was the Sodexo team at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

Meanwhile, "WasteWise Champion 2026" invites employees from all sites to propose ideas to reduce food waste, plastic use, and water consumption, with entries assessed on practicality and demonstrated results. This year's winner was the Sodexo team at Dulwich College International School Bangkok, with the concept "Reducing Food Waste, Creating Value from Surplus Ingredients." The team combined surplus ingredients from sandwich preparation, including bread crusts, cheese, ham, and leafy greens, with potatoes to create "Ham and Cheese Potato Croquettes." The initiative made better use of ingredients still suitable for cooking, while maintaining a focus on food quality and safety.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate Sodexo's ability to combine technology with the practical experience of its frontline teams to address clients' business needs. This includes aligning ingredient planning with demand, reducing waste, and using resources more efficiently. These practices also generate valuable knowledge that can be adapted and applied across other service sites.

WasteLESS Week 2026 reinforces Sodexo's role as a service partner that brings together quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, creating value for clients and consumers while laying the foundations for sustainable business growth.
