Sodexo Thailand Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability, Showcasing "WasteWatch & WasteWise Champion 2025" Initiative to Reduce Food Waste and Build a Better Future

Bangkok, October 2025: Sodexo Thailand, a global leader in sustainable food services and valued experiences at every moment of life, headquartered in France, continues to drive its mission for sustainability through the ongoing “WasteWatch & WasteWise Champion 2025” initiative.
This ongoing program aligns with Sodexo’s annual WasteLESS Week campaign, which is held every October. This year, it has delivered tangible results, reducing 1,964.54 kilograms of food waste, cutting 4.44 metric tons of carbon footprint, and saving 1,893.44 liters of fuel consumption within just one month across 9 participating sites.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and foster a responsible food waste management culture within the organization. Employees from various sectors, including business and industry, healthcare, energy and resources, and education, were encouraged to propose creative ideas and implement innovative technologies from Leanpath, a global pioneer in food waste management, providing innovative solutions to reduce food waste.
Mr. William Vowell, Head of Operations: Energy & Resources (Thailand) and Food Services (Thailand), Sodexo, said, “Since we launched the WasteWatch program in 2020, we have successfully reduced food waste by 45.43 metric tons (45,430 kilograms), equivalent to a reduction of 316.53 metric tons of carbon footprint. These results reflect our firm commitment to helping our clients and communities advance toward sustainability, minimize environmental impact, and promote responsible operations. We strive to reduce food waste to the lowest possible level through careful production planning, precise purchasing, pre-prepared ingredients, proper storage following the FIFO system, and continuous communication with clients."
Sodexo Thailand remains committed to fostering collaboration among employees, business partners, and clients, with a clear goal of reducing food waste in Thailand by 50% by 2025, reaffirming its leadership in sustainability and responsible business practices.
